During a Well-Male Exam, the provider may take your blood pressure, listen to your heart, and record your height and weight. He or she will ask you about your health history, your family’s history, and your own lifestyle. The provider may suggest lab work to look at your cholesterol, blood sugar, PSAs, or other indicators to help uncover any potential issues. Finally, based upon your age and family history, the provider may recommend health screenings, such as colonoscopies, bone scans or other tests to help prevent issues or find potential problems early.   Most insurance companies recognize that wellness visits are essential, and will pay for them. If you have other new or chronic issues that need to be discussed that are not related to wellness, out of pocket charges may occur.
